Dave White, Jr. is an award-winning disability inclusion advocate, keynote speaker, and Ph.D. candidate in Special Education and Disability Studies, whose work transcends labels to center the voices of disabled individuals.

Diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, Beals Syndrome, ADHD, an Executive Processing Disorder, and Generalized Anxiety, Dave draws from his lived experience as a disabled and neurodivergent person to advance disability justice, expand access, and affirm the inherent value of all disabled lives.

His impact spans education, nonprofits, businesses, and community organizations, helping them move inclusion beyond symbolic gestures toward substantive, equity-focused practice. Dave delivers keynotes, facilitates workshops, conducts neurodiversity access audits, and has worked with organizations such as the Nevada Department of Education, Eye to Eye, and the Northern California Children’s Therapy Center.

Athletics have long been central to Dave’s life. At 28, he found he qualified as a parathlete and began competing internationally in parasnowboarding events. He has raced on the Paralympic Snowboard Circuit, joined the Donek Snowboard Team, and earned three Challenged Athletes Foundation Hero of Sport Awards. His visibility as a parathlete raises awareness and representation within parasports while demonstrating the possibilities of athletic achievement for disabled individuals.

Dave is also a creative educator and author, having written and illustrated Jack and Pop-Pop’s Spacetacular Journey, a children’s book that encourages young readers to dream boldly. The book has been featured by Nevada Today’s Holiday Book Wishlist and Reno NPR (KUNR), reflecting Dave’s commitment to imagination, empowerment, and inclusive storytelling.

A recognized thought leader, Dave’s scholarship appears in the Journal of Autoethnography and other academic outlets. His work integrates narrative practice, lived experience, and research to guide organizations toward dignity, agency, and belonging for disabled communities. His accolades include Congressional recognition by U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen, the 2025 University of Nevada GSA Student Achievement Award, and the 2025 Nevada Silver Paw Award.

Outside of advocacy, Dave enjoys snowboarding, kayaking, traveling, and exploring the outdoors. His professional and personal life alike are rooted in equity, community, and joy.
